The Elsir Vale Campaign using Monsetrs Monsters VS Humans Humans Version with the Lovecraftian Variant.

Welcome to the Elsir Vale Campaign

Ah, brave souls! Welcome, welcome to the Elsir Vale! Though… perhaps "welcome" feels a touch too quaint for the trials that lie ahead. You stand at the precipice of a conflict far stranger and more terrifying than any mere clash of steel.
The shadow of the Red Hand of Doom falls heavy upon this land, yes, but it is a shadow twisted by forces ancient and unknowable. The goblin hordes and their monstrous allies march, driven by a fury that seems to emanate from beyond the very stars. Whispers speak of ichor-stained banners, of chanting in cyclopean ruins, and of things that slither and gibber in the darkness, their forms defying mortal comprehension.

You are the defenders of the Vale, the thin line between its innocent folk and a doom that promises not just death, but a descent into cosmic madness. Your foes are not simply warriors; they are warped by unholy pacts and shadowed by the dread influence of entities whose names would shatter the sanity of lesser minds. Their war drums beat to a rhythm that echoes from the void, and their eyes gleam with a light that chills the very soul.
The familiar banners of goblinoids and giants you might expect are now interwoven with unsettling symbols and geometries that defy earthly understanding. The air itself sometimes shimmers with an unnatural light, and the very earth seems to groan beneath unseen weight.
Steel and courage alone may not be enough. You will need to delve into forbidden lore, to confront horrors that whisper at the edges of reality, and perhaps even to grapple with the maddening truths of the cosmos itself.
So, heroes of the Elsir Vale, prepare yourselves. Sharpen your blades, yes, but also steel your minds against the encroaching abyss. The fate of the Vale, and perhaps more than that, rests upon your shoulders. May your resolve hold firm against the tides of madness that are surely to come.
The Red Hand… it brings a doom far stranger than you can imagine. Tread carefully.

I haven't started converting this yet because my players have yet to want to play test this new version out yet. So I am waiting to rewrite until laters.
Also, I have other projects in the works i want to get done first!
Yours Captain Hedges.

Update The D&D 3rd edition adventure "Red Hand of Doom" I was rewriting it to run under Sword and Wizardry Rules, but this project stalled and ran off the tracks and never got passed Vareth Keep.

Update March 2022
Now with my other works in helping Ken St Andre Create the all-new Monsters Monsters on the world of Zimralla I don't have time to convert this over at this time.

Update 2025, Also I am trying to get all my other older posts updated and reposted going all the way to the day I was born. Which are now available on the archives to the write of this post.

This is a remake of the Elsir Vale map from the D&D 3rd edition adventure Red Hand of Doom", using the original names and labels found in the adventure. A few minor details aside, this map sticks closely to the original adventure map in terms of general layout, and nothing here interferes with the adventure's flow. The only new, custom detail is the small town of Assardoth north of the Thorn-wastes, which you can use as a way-station before your players enter Elsir Vale itself.

This is the player version, leaving out a few adventure sites. A GM version is also available.
