Me becoming homeless!

NEW UDATES ARE COMMING

A Decade of Resilience: My Journey Through the Shadows

Tucson: The Darkest Hour (2013)

In 2013, I moved to Tucson, Arizona, looking for a fresh start. Instead, I found myself in a fight for my very survival. After being turned down for benefits by the State of Arizona, I was left with nothing but the clothes on my back and the streets beneath my feet.

On April 11, 2013, I became homeless. For those who weren't there, it’s hard to describe the isolation—feeling like no one cared except for a few true friends. But even in that darkness, I made new friends who became my lifeline. I started filming my journey, not just to document the struggle, but to let the world know I was still standing.

The Video Archive:

  • Day 14 (April 25): Two weeks on the street and still pushing.

  • Survival Rituals: I filmed the small things—preparing a meager meal, getting up for breakfast, and the daily grind of staying "okay."

  • The Breakthrough: Eventually, I fought my way back, securing an "apartment of sorts" and finally reclaiming a sense of normalcy.

The Return to Shreveport (October 2018)

Life has a way of testing you more than once. Over the years following Tucson, the shadows returned, and I found myself struggling with homelessness once again. I felt a deep, spiritual calling to return to my roots in Shreveport, Louisiana, and I made the journey home in October 2018.

By the time the COVID-19 pandemic broke out in late 2019, I was already established in the local shelter system. Being in a stable place when the world went into lockdown was a blessing I don't take for granted. By May 19, 2020, I had found a place to call my own and a job I was truly thankful for.

The Swamp Woods & The Goodness of God (July 2021)

The road remained rocky. In July 2021, after losing my job and being evicted, I faced the wilderness once more. This time, my "home" was a tent in the swampy woods of Shreveport.

Many would see this as a defeat, but I saw it as another chapter of providence. I had a tent, a cot, and the gear I needed to survive. Even in the humidity and the quiet of the woods, I knew I wasn't alone. God provided what I needed to keep going, and I’m still here to tell the tale.

"Thanks for stopping by and watching 'Me TV' starring Earl! Through the highs and the lows, the journey continues."
