Midweek Musings: Captain’s Log, Supplemental

July 1, 2026 | Dispatch from the Shreveport Cabin

Good morning, blog readers!

The calendar has officially flipped to July, and the mid-year station inspections are underway here at the cabin. Between handling real-world inspections, paying the monthly bills, and keeping all administrative systems green, my time at the comms console today is going to be short. Long-range sensors show a major midweek slump approaching the sector, so I am adjusting my spiritual attitude today to maintain warp velocity, clear out the clutter, and ensure operation "Midweek Recharge" keeps our shields at 100%.

Sector Status Report: Elrood Sector Overhaul

Even with a packed schedule today, the creative navigation computer hasn't stopped tracking. I am officially deep in the data-pads, rewriting and prepping my old Elrood Sector Campaign.

For the veterans of the fleet, we are pulling straight from the classic archives:

  • Planets of the Galaxy Guide (Volume 3) released in 1993.

  • Operation: Elrood released in 1996.

I am actively updating these classic roots within the Second Edition Revised Core Rulebook framework. We are breathing new life into these sector coordinates, using the classic D6 foundation to map out localized friction, live faction hubs, and logistics that make the star lanes feel truly dangerous and alive. Consider this your quick mid-week telemetry update—the full sector layout and deeper analysis will drop once the station duties are cleared.

Mission Report: Operation Midweek Recharge

Wednesday is the exact midpoint of our week—the perfect time to pause and recharge your spiritual energy. By shifting your focus from the busyness of the immediate tasks at hand to gratitude and intentional prayer, you can renew your strength to conquer the rest of your week with absolute clarity and peace.

  • Anchor in Gratitude: Take 60 seconds right now to thank God for three small things that brought you joy so far this week.

  • Take a Prayer Walk: Step away from your desk or workspace. Take a short walk and simply talk to God as if you are walking with a friend, releasing the heavy burdens of the week.

  • Meditate on Scripture: Use centering verses to push out midweek fatigue. When you feel weary, reflect on Psalm 118:24 or Matthew 11:28 to remind yourself of the rest and joy available to you right now.

A Simple Midweek Recharging Prayer ๐Ÿ™ “Dear God, as I reach the midpoint of the week, I come to You for a refreshing presence. Thank You for carrying me this far. Where I feel tired, please refresh my spirit. When my energy runs low, give me the strength and focus to tackle the rest of my tasks. Guide my thoughts and actions so I can walk in Your grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

I have to sign off early today to take care of the inspection protocols, but the desk is set for a massive return next week. Keep your eyes on the stars, stay focused, and finish the week strong!

Yours for now, Captain Hedges
