God gives us the grace to view our family members with love, even when they are testing our last nerve.
Blessed Are the Peacemakers (and Hamburgers)
Sometimes, the Lord answers those prayers for peace through the wonderful actions of the people around us. Just as the tension in the house was peaking, Angela stepped in with a plate of freshly cooked hamburgers for Uncle Bill.
That simple, loving act of service completely broke the tension. Uncle Bill got a hot meal, his mood instantly turned around, and the peace in the house was restored.
Matthew 5:9 says, "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God."
Angela was our peacemaker this morning. Embracing those peaceful interventions—and the people who bring them—allows the household to reset, sit down together, and move forward with joy.
