The Tiger Force HQ: Redesigning for the Next Cosmic Apocalypse (2026: Year of the Fire House)
Introduction
On August 12th, 2026, the hottest day in Shreveport wasn't just a weather event; it was a structural death sentence. As the humidity hit lethal levels at the Shreveport Cabin, the Tiger Force HQ underwent a desperate, radical redesign to face an enemy that doesn't just burn buildings—it ignites the blood. Fthaggua, the Regent of the Fire Vampires, descended as a 100-foot pillar of Pure Green Poison Flame, forcing a total overhaul of our defenses to prevent the Tiger Force soldiers from being consumed from within and reborn as flickering monsters.
The Problem: The Internal Inferno and the Monstrous Metamorphosis
The primary threat was the manifestation of Fthaggua as a 100-foot pillar of Pure Green Poisonous Flame. At MR 10,000, this entity functioned as a sentient cloud of corrosive neurotoxins. This entity didn't just radiate heat; it saturated the HQ with a cosmic, acidic venom. The Solar Flare Aura created a 30-foot "Kill Zone" where the air itself became a thick, acidic vapor, dealing 10d6 automatic poison damage per round. While Bayou Earl stood firm due to his natural immunity to acid and poison, the rest of the team faced a horrific internal combustion.
This green flame burns from within, entering the bloodstream and igniting the body's internal systems. As the poison consumes the organs, it begins a systemic decay that transforms the victims into Fire Creatures and Fire Vampires. The emerald fire replaces their blood, burning away their memories and free will, leaving them as flickering, toxic thralls of Fthaggua.
The psychological toll was absolute. Fthaggua’s Great Consumption (rolling 1,001d6) saw every '6' on those dice permanently drain 10 points of INT, STR, and CON, as the green poison converted the soldiers' life force into fuel for their new, monstrous forms. Detective Jones and the Tiger Force soldiers felt their humanity slipping away as the Deadliness 10 pressure took hold, their bodies smoldering with the very fire that was turning them against their own commander. To make matters worse, the Rhygntu lizard-men were using the chaos to burrow through the HQ's foundation, ready to harvest those who hadn't yet fully "turned" into fire-spawn.
The Solution: The Trinity Strike
Uncle Bill and Doctor John Voodoo held the basement against the Rhygntu saboteurs, preventing them from severing the main lines. The redesign allowed the HQ to vent its entire power grid into a single Cryo-Vapor neutralizing blast. By mixing the Ancient Water with specialized neutralizing salts, Bayou Earl fired a high-pressure spear of frozen, blessed mist directly into the heart of the poison pillar. This didn't just douse the flame; it crystallized the airborne toxins, halting the internal fire before the transformation could become permanent for the remaining survivors.
The Redesign: Engineering for the Apocalypse
To counter this internal ignition, the Tiger Force HQ was gutted and rebuilt with three primary defensive layers:
The Sanctum Well & Ancient Water Grid: The basement was excavated to reach pre-human strata, tapping into Ancient Water that remembers the era of the Elder Gods. This water was piped through the walls in lead-lined, silver-etched conduits to create a "Sacred Cooling" effect.
The Trinity-Linked Hydro-Cannon: Mounted on the roof and linked to the Trinity Engine, this cannon was modified to fire Cryo-Vapor neutralizing agents. By flash-freezing the Ancient Water into a fine, blessed mist, the HQ could now drop the green poison out of the air as harmless crystals before it could be inhaled.
Lead-Alloy Insulation: Every vent and window was reinforced with a lead-acid alloy to resist the corrosive nature of the emerald flame, providing a temporary barrier against the Solar Flare Aura.
Conclusion
The redesign worked, but the cost was the HQ itself. To fire the Trinity Strike and stop the internal combustion of the men, we had to vent the entire power grid, leaving the building a darkened, frost-covered shell. We halted the transformation, but the green poison has already seeped into the foundation of Shreveport. The HQ is a wreck, but it is now a fortress truly built for the Year of the Fire House.
Call to Action
The Rhygntu lizard-men are still in the sub-basement trying to poison the Sanctum Well. Does Bayou Earl lead the soldiers—some still flickering with green light—down into the dark to finish them? Leave a comment with your tactical plan for the HQ basement sweep!
