☕ 3 AM Whispers: The Fog, The Files, and the Twelve Mile Terror
Tuesday, March 10, 2026
The fog is so thick off the Red River this morning you could cut it with a skinning knife. I’m sitting here in the glow of the monitor, the scent of Pumpkin Holiday Spice coffee filling the room, and the silence of the last few weeks finally needs an explanation.
If the blog has seemed quiet, it’s because the creative furnace has been white-hot. We aren't just "playing" anymore—we are building a legacy.
The coffee today is a heavy hitter—Pumpkin Holiday Spice—and it’s a good thing, too. The humidity is clinging to the cypress outside the cabin like a wet blanket, and the silence of the last few weeks is finally ready to be broken. If you’ve been wondering where the "Hedge Wizard of the Shreveport Cabin" has been, I’m here to tell you: I’ve been in the forge.
We aren't just telling stories anymore. We are building the Official PDF releases for DriveThruRPG.
Why the Blog Went Dark: The Forge of DriveThruRPG
Transitioning from a storyteller to a professional publisher is a grueling climb. I have been deep in the formatting trenches, aligning the Monsters! Monsters! 2.7 mechanics with the narrative weight of the Tiger Force Shadow Saga.
Every manuscript, every map of the Tygerian Isles, and every stat block for characters like Bayou Earl and Uncle Billy Goat has to be precise. Writing for the global stage means ensuring our "Swamp Dread" mechanics are ready for any GM to pick up and run. This takes time, focus, and a lot of caffeine. But today, I’m stepping away from the layout software to give back to the fans who have been here since the start.
The DriveThruRPG Transition: Why the Silence?
For years, the stories of Zimrala, the Tygerian Isles, and the Tiger Force Shadow Saga have lived right here, in the raw and the rough. But the time has come to take the "Hedge Wizard of the Shreveport Cabin" persona to the next level.
I have been deep in the trenches of layout, editing, and formatting. We are preparing Official PDF Releases for DriveThruRPG. This means professional-grade stat blocks, high-fidelity maps of the Finland Bogs, and the codified rules for the Trinity Engine and the Kristall Wyrm mechanics.
Writing for a blog is a conversation; writing for a professional release is a construction project. Every comma, every Monsters! Monsters! 2.7 Deadliness Rating, and every OGL (Open Game License) credit has to be perfect. I’ve been trading sleep for syntax to make sure when you download a Hedges original, it’s the best damn gaming material on the market.
๐️ The Main Event: "Easter on the Tygerian Isles of Achrox"
Forget what you thought you knew about the bayou. Our flagship release for DriveThruRPG is a sprawling, 120-page adventure that takes players deep into Bodeleaf County’s Hawthorne Valley, located within the mysterious Tygerian Isles of Achrox.
This isn't just a quick crawl; it’s a high-adventure epic designed to showcase the beauty and danger of the Isles. From the whispering leaves of Hawthorne Valley to the ancient Tygerian ruins, this manuscript is the culmination of months of world-building and layout.

๐ฒ Introducing: "Monster Kids" – Family-Friendly RPG
We are officially launching a new line called Monster Kids. I realized that the magic of Monsters! Monsters!™ shouldn't just be for the grizzled veterans.
Monster Kids is designed for parents and children to sit down and explore together. We are using Ken St. Andre’s legendary mechanics but tailoring the experience for a younger audience.
The Setting: We are using the 12 Mile Bayou campaign setting, but we’ve stripped away the "Terror" elements.
The Vibe: Instead of "Swamp Dread," it’s about Swamp Discovery. It’s about curiosity, friendship, and the wonder of meeting creatures in the wild without the Lovecraftian nightmares.
The Goal: To give parents a toolkit to share their love of Tunnels & Trolls and Monsters! Monsters! with their kids in a way that is fun, safe, and imaginative. which is what i am doing with my new kids right now and thanks to my sweetheart Angela Head and the kids we are bringing these out to be published by us under the new Stiped Coast Studios logos
๐ Announcing: "The Twelve Mile Terror Campaign " – FREE Gamemaster Adventure!
To celebrate our move toward official releases, I am releasing a full-scale Gamemaster Adventure for free right here on the blog: "The Twelve Mile Terror."
This is the definitive "Bayou Horror" experience. It’s set in the shadow of the Cypress Shadow B&B, a location where the line between the Louisiana mud and the Zimralan rift has completely dissolved.
Right here on this blog, we will be releasing a brand-new Monsters! Monsters! 2.7 adventure: The Twelve Mile Terror.
This isn't just a snippet; it’s a full-throttle GM adventure featuring the "Swamp Dread" mechanics and the unique narrative composition of the Cypress Shadow B&B. Whether you’re playing as a monster or a human, this crawl through the Shreveport backwaters will test your Sanity and your steel.
Consider this a playtest material for the high-quality content we’re headed toward on DriveThruRPG.
๐ถ A Gift for the Faithful: "The Twelve Mile Terror"
To thank you for sticking by the cabin during this transition, I’m not just giving you an update—I’m giving you a full-scale Gamemaster Adventure for free, right here on the blog.
"The Twelve Mile Terror" is a descent into the dark heart of the Louisiana backwaters, specifically designed for the Monsters! Monsters!™ and Humans! Humans!™ systems. This isn't your standard "kill the goblin" quest. This is Swamp Dread.
The Narrative Composition: The Cypress Shadow B&B
The adventure centers around a location I’ve spent months detailing: The Cypress Shadow B&B. On the surface, it’s a rustic getaway for tourists. Beneath the floorboards, it’s a nexus for the Mythos influences creeping in from the rift.
New Mechanics: "Swamp Dread" & Lovecraft D6
In this adventure, we are playtesting the Lovecraft D6 Sanity Tables. In the Shreveport swamplands, your physical strength (MR) matters, but your mental fortitude is what keeps you from becoming a permanent resident of the bog.
The Dread Meter: As players move deeper into the "Twelve Mile" radius, the environment itself attacks their psyche.
The "Shadow" Persona: Players will encounter NPCs like Detective Jones and the enigmatic Dez Nuts, each carrying pieces of the puzzle that link the Tiger Force Shadow Saga to the ancient horrors of the mud.
The Meat of the Mechanics: Lovecraft D6 & Sanity
For this adventure, we are officially integrating the heavy-duty Lovecraft D6 System mechanics. Thanks to the intellectual property of Bolt Thrower Press, we are bringing a level of psychological horror to the bayou that you’ve never seen.
Sanity Tables: In "The Twelve Mile Terror," your Monster Rating (MR) helps you fight, but your Sanity determines if you survive. Seeing the Venom-Eater or witnessing the shifting geometries of the Ether Dragons can break a mind long before the body fails.
Mythos Integration: We are blending the ancient cosmic dread of the Mythos with the grit of the Tiger Force Shadow Saga.
The "Swamp Dread" Modifier: As you move within the twelve-mile radius of the B&B, all Sanity checks take a -2 penalty due to the oppressive, unnatural atmosphere of the bog.
⚔️ Current State of the "Snake" and the "Dog" (MM 2.7 Stats)
As we prepare these official releases, here is how our primary legends stand in the current build. We’ve streamlined the stats to the core Monsters! Monsters! 2.7 requirements—where the Monster Rating (MR) defines the soul of the character.
| Legend | Persona | Monster Rating (MR) | Deadliness Rating (DR) |
| Bayou Earl | Were-Tiger Wizard | 198 | 4 |
| Uncle Billy Goat | Axe-Wielding Hero | 170 | 4 |
| Kenneth Arr'th | Rock Troll Godi n my games. | 10,000+ | 10 |
The Wayfinder Link: Both heroes are currently equipped with the Stones of the Ancient Path, allowing them to communicate across dimensions and navigate the "Swamp Dread" zones without the usual movement penalties. This is the "Iron Sharpening Iron" that will be the focal point of the upcoming PDF releases.
What Comes Next?
Stay tuned for the 4 AM Jitters post, where I’ll be breaking down the specific timeline for the DriveThruRPG launches and giving you the first map coordinates for the Twelve Mile Terror.
The "Hedge Wizard" is still here, the coffee is still hot, and the monsters are just getting started. We’re moving from the cabin to the world stage, and I’m taking every one of you with me.
