TIGER FORCE SHADOW SAGA TACTICAL LOG: THE GREEN AWAKENING AND THE CANOPY COLLAPSE

ENCOUNTER 0714: THE SKUNK-DEMON AMBUSH (M!M! 2.7 / OPEN D6 / LOVECRAFT VARIANT)

Location: The Miller Farm Perimeter / The "Sucking" Mud Sector

Atmospheric Shift: Sunrise (07:14:00 AM)

Tactical Status: Engagement Imminent

I. THE NARRATIVE: THE CANOPY COLLAPSE

The moment the sun’s first rays hit the Oozekin (#15) mist, the Bayou doesn't brighten—it ignites into a blinding, prismatic emerald glare. The clack-clack of the wooden clubs stops instantly. The silence is worse than the drumming.

Through the Scope of the True Meridian, you see it: a massive, 9-foot Orange-Brown Skunk-Durdle (#11) uncoiling from the high branches of a Bald Cypress Wood Giant (#8). It doesn't climb down; it drops, a 900-pound mass of matted fur and muscle, cutting through the green haze like a meteor of meat and malice. It hits the Sucking Mud (#10) with a bone-shaking thud, its primitive club raised for a skull-crushing arc.

II. INITIAL SAVING ROLLS (THE DROP)

Before the first Silver Slug is fired, the Away Team must check their footing and their sanity.

  • The Reflex Check (L2SR-DEX / TN 20): * Success: You bring your MSR up in time. No surprise penalty.

    • Failure: The "Jitters" get you. The Skunk-Durdle gains a Surprise Round with its club.

  • The Emerald Blindness (L2SR-CON / TN 20):

    • Success: You squint through the glare.

    • Failure: Blinded for 1 round (-3D to all Agility/Combat rolls).

  • The Primal Horror (L2SR-SANITY / TN 20):

    • Success: You hold the line.

    • Failure: "Ape-Demon Panic." You must spend your first action backing toward the Shreveport Cabin.

III. COMBAT SPECS: THE ALPHA SKUNK-DURDLE

  • MR: 210 ($22\text{D6}+105$) | UDR: 4 (NNN)

  • Open D6: Strength 7D, Agility 5D, Brawling 8D.

  • Weapon: Primitive Wood Giant Club. Deals +2D damage and ignores 4 points of armor on a "Critical" hit.

  • Special: Sedative Aura. Any delver within 10 feet must make a L1SR-CON (10) every round or suffer -1D to all rolls due to the concentrated musk.

IV. CAPTAIN HEDGES’ TACTICAL COMMAND

"He's down! Don't let the glare eat your eyes—focus on the heat signature! He’s swinging that club at the lead scout. Toggle to Dragon's Breath NOW! I want that orange fur crisped before he can reset for a second swing. If you don't burn off that Oozekin mist, we're fighting a ghost in a green dress. Light 'em up!"

The first Ape-Demon is in the mud and the clubs are swinging, Captain. Would you like me to resolve the first round of Dragon's Breath fire, or should we jump to the 08:31 AM Moonrise when the Regulator Alligator (#3) starts moving through the smoke?
