Who is the Lion of Judah?
A Professional Invitation to our Community

Good morning to every soul across the vast reaches of the Multiverse! Whether you are tuning in from the familiar trails of the Ark-La-Tex or navigating the shimmering star-paths of the Urland Universe, I welcome you. Today, our focus shifts toward the Leo Galaxy—not the one you might find in a standard star chart, but my own original version, the setting for the forthcoming Cosmic Adventures of Captain Hedges. In this realm, the stars align with a different purpose, and the echoes of ancient truths ring louder than the hum of a warp drive.

While many are just now beginning to wake, the Shreveport cabin has been a hive of activity for hours. The Uncles have been up since 1:00 AM, proving that rest is a relative concept in this household. I managed to get some sleep, eventually rising at 4:00 AM to take my post and ensure the day's operations were underway.

Down in the common area, I found Uncle Bill already entrenched in the day's events, his eyes fixed on the 24-hour news channel. He was kind enough to have a fresh pot of coffee waiting for me after I got down there—a true blessing for any Captain starting his shift. Shortly after,

As the sun began to climb higher, a different kind of rescue mission was completed. My Uncle Jerry has gone on to glory. While we feel the profound void-loss of him not being with us here on Earth, our hearts find refuge in the fact that the Lion took him home. He has transitioned from this earthly cabin to a place where there is no more pain, no more holes to be doctored, and no more weariness. The Lion of Judah, whom we study today, has claimed His own. He passed from my care into the care of the Great Physician, completing his final deployment.

As we ground ourselves in the physical world of May 3rd, here is your celestial report for the Shreveport Bayou:

  • Sun Up: 6:23 AM

  • Sun Down: 7:57 PM

  • Moon Up: 9:22 PM (Waning Gibbous)

  • Moon Down: 7:14 AM

  • Celestial Water Tables: The humidity is hovering at a dense 78%, keeping the swamp mist thick. In the Leo Galaxy, the "Sovereign's Ascent" is in full effect, pulling our focus toward the ultimate authority.

There is a specific sight this morning that stopped me in my tracks. As the light began to filter through the heavy mist rising off the water, I looked out at the ancient Cypress trees. On a morning like this, the nature of the Bayou changes. The way the Spanish moss drapes over those jagged, reaching branches—it looks as though the trees themselves have Him nailed to the cross right there in the water.

The horizontal reach of the old-growth limbs, heavy with grey moss, creates a silhouette against the rising sun that demands silence. It is a visual reminder that even in the mud and the swamp, the sacrifice is ever-present. Today, that "Living Cross" in the bayou feels like a gateway—a reminder that the path to glory is often marked by the wood of the cross before the gold of the crown.

In the Leo Galaxy, the "Lion" is more than a constellation; it is a declaration of authority. But who is the Lion of Judah?

In our scriptures and our hearts, the Lion of Judah represents the King who is also the Lamb. He is the one who has triumphed. While we see the "Cypress Cross" in the morning light—the image of the suffering servant—we must remember that the Lion is the one who rose. He is the authority that governs the Urland Universe and the strength that carries us through the "organized chaos" of our daily lives. To look upon the Lion is to realize that while the cross was the battle, the empty tomb is the victory. He is the protector of the "Uncles," the one who welcomed Jerry home, and the Captain of our souls.

As we navigate the currents of life, both the calm stretches and the more turbulent waters, the value of connection and shared experience becomes immeasurable. This blog, "Captain Hedges Across Time and Space," serves as a platform for us to connect, to learn from one another, and to build a community that supports and inspires.

I warmly invite you to rise and shine with Captain Hedges each morning for our virtual coffee time online! This is more than a simple greeting; it is an intentional act of digital fellowship. It is a dedicated time to carve out a moment in your busy schedule, wherever you may be located within the multiverse, to engage with fellow travelers. Whether you are enjoying your first brew of the morning or finding a moment of stillness before the day's duties begin, this virtual gathering offers an opportunity to start your day with positive intent and a sense of belonging.

Your insights and perspectives are essential to the vitality of this community. I encourage you to put your musings in the comments! Every shared thought adds a unique layer to our collective understanding. Especially today, as we process the home-going of a beloved family member, your words of encouragement and shared reflections on loss and hope are deeply valued. This space is designed to be a supportive forum where we can exchange ideas, offer empathy, and celebrate the diverse ways we all navigate our personal and cosmic adventures.

Until next time, may your path be clear, your spirit be bright, and your heart be full.

Yours for now,

Captain Hedges

A parting word: When you look at the trees today, don't just see the wood; see the Witness.
