The Myth in the World: Across the Tygerian Isles, travelers speak of the "Princess of Shadows." They say she is a spirit who walks the deep jungles, commanding the diseases and the darkness. Tygerian bandits whisper that if you see a Red Tygerian with fur as black as charcoal watching you from the trees, you are already dead. They believe she is a demon.

The Truth in Volcanis: She is not a demon. She is Lady Whiro, the head of Her Majesty’s Secret Ministry of Intelligence. She is the Queen's most loyal servant, the shadow that guards the light. While the Council argues in the throne room, she is out in the world, silencing threats before they ever reach the city gates.

SPECIAL ABILITIES:

1. The Maiki (The Living Sickness): She commands the Maiki—spirits of disease. She uses them as spies. If a goblin scout suddenly falls ill with a fever, it is often because Whiro has sent a spirit to inhabit his body and listen through his ears.

2. Te Pō (The Shadow Walk): She can step into a shadow in the deepest jungle of Zimrala and step out of a shadow in the Queen’s Throne Room instantly. Distance means nothing to her.

3. The Lizard Form: In dire need, she sheds her Tygerian form to become a massive Black Tuatara-Dragon, a throwback to the ancient monsters of the underworld.

RELATIONSHIP WITH HELINOX: She views Helinox (Tamarcus) as a nephew. She is the "Crazy Aunt" who lives in the dark.

• The Princess of Shadows stands in the dark, slitting the throats of the assassins who try to kill him.
