A Moment of Stillness in the Shreveport Rain

This morning, as I sit on my front porch here in Shreveport, Louisiana, with a warm cup of coffee in hand, I'm watching a powerful rainstorm come down. The world outside is alive with the sound of rain, yet there's a sense of calm within this sheltered space. It strikes me how this verse speaks to finding that inner stillness even when life around us feels like a storm. Just as the rain will eventually pass and leave the air feeling fresh and new, so too can we find renewal in those moments of quiet reflection and trust.

As we begin our day, let's carry forward the thought of finding strength in stillness, much like the deep roots of a tree. It's easy to get swept up in the busyness, but there's a profound peace in recognizing the quiet resilience within us.

The Psalmist reminds us in Psalm 46:10 (NIV): "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."

Wherever you find yourself this morning, take a moment to "be still." Allow yourself to connect with that inner source of strength and peace. Know that even amidst any "storms" you might be facing, there is a grounding presence that sustains you. May your day be filled with moments of quiet knowing.
