Good morning, everyone, and welcome to our very first Thursday Morning Greetings!
It's Thursday, June 5th, 2025, and I apologize that this blog post is a bit late this morning. While I got up at 5:30 AM with plenty to do, sometimes the morning just gets away from you!
This morning, it was my job to get up and make sure everyone was fed at our log cabin in Cypress Swamp. Uncle Bill, Uncle Jerry, my brother Robert, and my brother Rob were all ready for a hearty start. First, the hot coffee flowed, then it was straight to the eggs and sausage!
A quick but important note for everyone in Shreveport and surrounding areas regarding the recent bird flu news: Please ensure you cook your eggs thoroughly! Cook them until the yolks and whites are firm to guarantee they are safe to eat.
This Week's Suggestions
Here are a few ideas to kick off your Thursday:
- Reflect on a Journey: Think about a significant journey or transformation in your life, perhaps one where unexpected help appeared, much like the ether dragons aiding in the evacuation to Zimarala. What lessons did you learn from it?
- Embrace Creative Chaos: Consider how sometimes chaos can be a catalyst for creation. How have you seen things explode or implode, only for something new and interesting to emerge from the aftermath?
- Connect with Generations: If you're a parent, perhaps share a story about how experiences from your past (like the Vietnam War or Desert Storm, if that resonates with you) might unknowingly shape the decisions or paths your children take today, especially concerning service or dedication.
Conclusion
As Earl sips his coffee and watches the world wake up, he's pondering something we'd love for you to think about and share with us: How has a past experience, whether personal or historical, unexpectedly influenced your present path or perspective?
Let us know your thoughts in the comments below! We'll be back next Thursday with more greetings and suggestions. And with that, I'm excited to announce I'm starting a new category on our blog: The Adventures of Captain Hedges blog posts! Stay tuned for more on that soon!
