Sunday Evening Wrap-Up: Embracing the Quiet After a Full Day

Sunday Evening Wrap-Up: Embracing the Quiet After a Full Day

As the Shreveport Lousanna sun begins to set, over the Cypress trees, now casting long shadows across the cabin and the cypress swamp, this Sunday draws to a close. It's been a day of unexpected turns, deep reflections, and profound gratitude.

From the dramatic early morning hours marked by a storm and personal challenges to the shared comfort of church and much-needed naps, today has truly been a testament to resilience. We've navigated the complexities of caregiving for Uncle Bill and Uncle Jerry, witnessed the strength of their bond, and found solace in the simple act of being together as a family.

Even amidst the physical aches and the demands on our time and energy, there's a quiet satisfaction in knowing that we faced the day head-on. The morning's devotional reminded us of "new mercies every morning," and indeed, that promise unfolded throughout the day. From the comforting breakfast to the shared moments of peace, the steadfast love and faithfulness were palpable.

Now, as the evening settles, it's a time for quiet rest. The kitchen may be tidied, the caregiving tasks winding down, and the last cups of coffee perhaps enjoyed on the porch as the swamp whispers in the twilight. It’s a moment to recharge, gather strength, and appreciate the simple act of concluding a day well-lived, despite its imperfections.

Tonight, we embrace the stillness, trusting in the rest that comes after a full day. May your evening also be filled with peace, knowing that even after the busiest or most challenging of days, there is always quiet, and there is always tomorrow.

Goodnight, and rest well.

See you all Tomorrow yours Captain Hedges
