Bayou Tuesday: The Lovewell Feast and the Wintermas Sanctuary
Tuesday, December 16, 2025
1:00 PM. The laundry is spinning, the coffee is flowing, and the mood has shifted from "Mission" to "Celebration."
I told you earlier I was up at 5:30 AM, hauling my gear out of the Swampy Cabin to beat the rush. I made it to the Lovewell Center, but it turns out today isn't just a supply run. It’s a full-blown Christmas Party.
I’m hanging out here all day, surrounded by good people, safe from the damp cold outside. And the best part? We’ve got a massive Christmas Dinner scheduled for 6 PM tonight.
It is amazing how the real world syncs up with our game world. Today is the start of Las Posadas (the search for shelter), and here I am, having found the best shelter in Shreveport. I’m warm, I’m safe, and I’m about to be fed.
So, let’s translate this "Lovewell Vibe" into Thrivaldi for your game tonight.
1. THE SANCTUARY RULE (The Lovewell Effect)
While the Battle of the Bulge rages outside in the snow (Shadow Frost is still attacking), today is a day for Sanctuary.
GM Rule: If players can successfully find an Inn, a Temple, or a friendly Camp today (L2 CHR SR), they don't just get a long rest. They get the "Lovewell Effect."
Effect: No random encounters occur within the sanctuary. The "Hearth Fire" burns twice as bright, and morale is instantly restored to maximum.
2. THE HERO'S FEAST (The 6 PM Dinner)
Tonight at 6 PM, I’ll be sitting down for a Christmas Dinner. Your players should get a taste of that too. If they eat a hot meal tonight, apply the "Wintermas Feast" buff.
The Wintermas Feast Table (1d6 Buff)
Roll once per player who eats a hot meal.
| 1d6 | The Feast Effect (Lasts 24 Hours) |
| 1 | The Roast Beast: Gain +20 CON (Temporary Hit Points) that lasts until lost in combat. |
| 2 | The Yule Loaf: You become immune to Fear and Intimidation. |
| 3 | Spiced Cider: You gain Resistance to Cold Damage. |
| 4 | The Sweet Pudding: You regain 1d6 WIZ points per hour. |
| 5 | The King's Cake: You find a "bean" or coin in your food. Gain +10 Luck for the next day. |
| 6 | The Overflowing Cup: Share the meal with an NPC to instantly make them a loyal Ally (Friendly status). |
3. THE CHOCOLATE DROP
Don't forget, it's still National Chocolate Covered Anything Day. If you find sweets at the party, use the table from this morning.
I’m going to kick back, enjoy the party, and wait for that dinner bell at 6 PM. It’s a good day to be Bayou Earl.
Stay warm, friends. Find your sanctuary, and eat well tonight.
