📅 Wintermiss Countdown: Day 9 (December 21st)

For Day 9 (December 21st), the winter solstice is nearly upon us. We light the ninth ceremonial Aetherial Diya. The air is thick with magic, and tonight we focus on the Parchment of Echoes.

📜 Twelve Days of Wintermiss: Day 9 – The Recording of the Echoes

Nine Flames Against the Darkness (December 21st in Cryselle)

The winter solstice is upon us, Tygerian monsters! Tonight, we light the ninth ceremonial Aetherial Diya. The light is so intense now that the Aetherial Corona hums with a musical frequency, a shimmering shield of lavender and gold that vibrates against the encroaching Shadowfrost.

Night 9 Ritual: The Script of Remembrance

Tonight is dedicated to The Voice. In the shadow of the Faction War, our history is our greatest defense. Using ceremonial scrolls modeled after the Parchment of Echoes, families gather in silence to record the "Echoes" of their ancestors and the triumphs of the past year.

As the words are written, they lift from the page in glowing script, joining the Corona above. This ensures that the legacy of the Tygerian Isles is etched into the very fabric of reality, where the Shadowfrost Arch Demon can never erase it.

The Shadow's Ninth Strike: The Sausage-Swiper (Bjúgnakrækir)

While we reflect on our history, a lithe shadow moves through the rafters. The Sausage-Swiper (the ninth of the Winter Ghoulish Langley Ogre Lads) has descended. He is a master of the high places, using long, hooked fingers to snag the smoked sausages hanging from the kitchen vents.

He doesn't just steal the meat; he leaves behind a "Scent of Discord." Households that fall victim to this thief often find themselves arguing over their recorded Echoes, turning a night of remembrance into a night of bickering.

The Wyrm’s Warning

From the frozen peaks of Ice Wyrm Mountain, the Great Dragon Lorea lets out a low, territorial growl. She senses the discord in the valley below. Beside her, Fylgja watches as her mother’s frost-breath begins to take the shape of the Five Golden Rings. The Dragon Queen is remembering the ancient pacts, and the Wild Card faction is becoming restless.

🐉 Environmental Mechanic: The Wyrm’s Warning (Day 9)

On this night, the psychological state of the Tygerian monsters is linked to the dragons on Ice Wyrm Mountain. As Lorea growls and Fylgja mimics the Five Golden Rings, the very air vibrates with draconic power.

Effect: The Resonance of the Rings During any combat or social encounter on Day 9, players must track the "Discord Level" of the party.

  • The Discord Penalty: If any player rolls a 1 on a D6 during a check, the Sausage-Swiper's "Scent of Discord" triggers. For the next 3 rounds, all players suffer a -5 to their Combat Adds as Lorea’s growl echoes in their minds, causing irritation.

  • The Wild Card Blessing: However, if a player rolls a 6, Fylgja’s frost-breath mimics a Golden Ring. That player gains a +10 "Aetherial Shield" for the rest of the turn, as the dragon’s budding protection mirrors the ritual of the Parchment of Echoes.

Lorea’s Territorial Growl (Area Attack): If the party fails to stop the Sausage-Swiper, Lorea unleashes a distant roar from the mountain.

  • Save: Everyone in the kitchen must make a Level 2 Saving Throw on CON.

  • Failure: The vibration is so intense it shatters one non-magical item (like a bowl or a plate) and deals 1D6 damage from the sonic pressure.
