3 AM Whispers: The Still Small Voice
By Captain Hedges
The world is a different place at three in the morning. The loud shouts of the day are gone, the fever of the flu has finally cooled, and the only sound left is the wind moving through the Shreveport pines. In that silence, if you listen closely enough, you realize the wind isn’t just noise—it’s a messenger.
The Wind Whispers to Me
The wind whispers secrets through the silent trees, A gentle breath upon the morning breeze. It tells of journeys far beyond my sight, And stirs the embers of the fading night.
It speaks of paths that I have yet to tread, With stars as lanterns glowing overhead. I listen close to hear what must be told, In silver light and shadows deep and cold.
For in the hush before the world awakes, The heavy silence of the morning breaks. A voice is calling, steady, soft, and true, To lead me onward, making all things new.
He Walks With Me
There is a deep comfort in the "Whisper Hours." As I’m recovering from the sickness that tried to hold me down this week, I’ve found myself walking the quiet halls of the cabin. In those moments, I am reminded that I am never truly alone.
He walks with me, and He talks with me, guiding my steps when the room is dark. It’s a reminder that no matter how loud the world gets or how scary a sudden illness can be, there is a steady hand on my shoulder and a voice telling me that I belong to Him. This morning, as the wind shakes the windowpane, I’m just grateful to be listening.
Scripture of the Day
1 Kings 19:12
"And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice."
