Year of the Snake Day 11 Day 11: The Cleanup.

This is Sunday, Day 11. The morning after the apocalypse was cancelled.

Usually, the day after a war is quiet, but for a Tygerian, "quiet" just means it's time to reload and loot. We have the massive Battle Star Tigris Prime parked in low orbit casting a shadow over the jungle, and debris from the exploding Bio-Ship is raining down like fireworks.

Here is the draft for Day 11: The Cleanup.

Day 11: Scars and Salvage

Date: Day 11 — 10:00 Hours Location: Hangar Bay 1, Surface Command By: Captain Hedges

The sky is finally clear of enemies, but it’s full of junk.

The explosion of the Basilisk Bio-Ship yesterday scattered millions of tons of alien chitin and organic metal across the upper atmosphere. Most of it is burning up on reentry—beautiful streaks of green fire—but the big chunks are landing in the jungle.

That’s where the Salvage Teams come in.

I stood on the landing pad, watching a damaged Tiger Claw fighter being welded back together by the ground crew. Above us, the massive silhouette of the Battle Star Tigris Prime hung in the sky, a silent, striped guardian. It feels good to know the "Big Cat" is watching our backs.

Admiral T'Charr hailed me from the bridge of the Battle Star. "Captain. We are picking up strange energy readings from the larger debris fields. The Bio-Ship wasn't just a carrier. It was carrying something."

"Supplies?" I asked, wiping grease from my hands.

"No," the Admiral growled. "Artifacts. We found a containment pod that survived the explosion. We are bringing it down to your lab for analysis. Handle with care. It’s still twitching."

Great. We won the war, but it looks like the mystery is just starting.

At least the coffee is fresh, and the cinnamon rolls are hot. We earned them.
