The Silence of the Cypress: A Late Dispatch

If you noticed the silence yesterday, it wasn't because the cabin was empty. It was because the air around the Red River went thick with a copper-tasting mist that scrambled every compass in the drawer. We weren't just monitoring the situation; we were all adventuring together, shoulder-to-shoulder against a localized Ether-leak near the Bayou Teche that threatened to pull the swamp right into the void.

he Vanguard: Bayou Earl and Uncle Bill took the lead. Earl, in his Tygerian Hybrid form, used his raw power to clear a path through the unnatural growth, while Uncle Bill, in his Billy Goat Hybrid form, scouted the high ridges to keep us from being flanked by whatever was sliding through the rift. Their Hunting and Tracking skills were the only thing keeping us on the trail of the "clues" that reality was leaving behind.
The Mystical Support: Right behind them, The Hedge Wizard and John Ar, the Voodoo Witch Doctor, were working in tandem to hold our physical forms together. While the Wizard used the Scope of the True Meridian to pinpoint the leak, John Ar was calling upon the spirits of the water and wood to shield us from the Etheric backlash. It’s one thing to see a monster; it’s another to stand in the middle of a spirit-storm while your friends are shifting shapes in front of you.
It was a grueling twenty-four hours of tracking, binding, and fighting back the "ripples," but the team held. The "contracts" with the swamp have been renegotiated by force, and the veil is stitched shut for now.
We’re back at the cabin, cleaning the gear and letting the adrenaline fade. The Bayou is quiet again, but we know better than to think it'll stay that way.
