Year of the Snake: Day 17 – The All-Clear Signal

By Captain Hedges

Log Date: January 17, 2026 Status: OPERATIONS NORMAL / BASE SECURE

The Wardens have departed.

The inspection is done. The "White Glove" review of the Shreveport Cabin is complete, and we have passed with flying colors. The base is secure, the floors are shining, and—most importantly—I can finally stop scrubbing and start writing again.

It feels good to have the chaos behind me. A clean cabin is a clean mind, or so they say.

While I was offline yesterday dealing with the "Real World," you all received the Trinity Engine Personnel Files. That was a massive data-drop: Star Knights, Smugglers, Void-Hunters, and Wired Golems.

Now you have the Rules. You have the Setting (The Leo Galaxy). You have the Characters.

The only thing missing is the Job.

Mission Seed: The Ghost of the Junker System

For use with the Trinity Engine and the "Penitent Thief" crew.

The Hook: Your crew is docked at a fringe station when your sensors pick up a faint, repeating signal bouncing off the Junker System (The Maw). It isn’t an Imperial Ophidian code. It’s an old Order of the Lion distress beacon—one that hasn’t been heard since the Prime Duel.

The Location: Sector 9 ("The Rust-Yards"). This is a sensor-dead zone filled with floating debris, half-eaten cruisers, and "Ariel Static."

The Threat: The beacon is coming from a derelict heavy cruiser drifting near a gravity well. But the ship isn’t empty. It is a nesting ground for Void-Gobblers (those nasty avian-mech scavengers based on the Turkey Monster). They are stripping the hull for copper and flesh.

The Twist: The signal isn't coming from a person. It’s coming from a damaged Logic-Forged Lexicon Golem trapped in the bridge, holding the coordinates to a lost armory... or perhaps the location of Ophidius himself.

The Objective: Get in. Blast the Gobblers. Retrieve the Golem. Get out before the Clunker Legions notice you.

The engine is hot, the crew is ready, and the inspection is over. It’s time to fly.
