There is quiet, and then there is this.
It’s 3:17 AM. It is the kind of deep night that feels heavy, like a velvet blanket draped over the entire world.
Here at the cabin, the silence is almost physical. Outside the window, there is absolutely nothing. No wind stirring the trees, no nocturnal rustlings, not even the distant hum of the civilized world. It feels as if the woods around me have collectively decided to hold their breath.
Inside, it’s just me and the occasional pop of cooling wood in the stove. It is a profound, enveloping stillness that seems to stop time—and thought—in its tracks.
It’s beautiful, but it’s also thick. It demands that you just sit within it rather than try to work against it.
Consequently, ambition has surrendered to the hush. The words aren't flowing this early morning; they are caught in the quiet.
Consider this a gentle whisper to let you know that today's scheduled blog posts are going to be running on "cabin time"—which means they will be arriving a little later today than usual.
I’m going to sit in this rare, deep silence a little longer before the dawn breaks the spell.
Good morning, or good night, from the depths of the woods.
