Day 7: The Wizard, The Dragon, and The Goat
Date: Day 7 — 14:00 Hours (The Ruins of the Capital) By: Captain Hedges
I was on my knees, my armor smoking. Warlord Xul was strong. He stood over me, his four arms holding four different energy blades, his serpentine tail lashing back and forth. He laughed, a dry, hissing sound. "Your resistance ends here, Captain. Your world belongs to the Serpent."
I gripped the hilt of my sword, preparing for the end. "Not today, Xul."
Suddenly, the air behind Xul didn't just shimmer—it cracked. The smell of ozone mixed with the scent of damp moss, cypress wood, and sulfur. A multiverse portal swirled open, not green like the Ophidians, but a deep, swampy blue.
A voice boomed out, thick with a Louisiana drawl and arcane power. "You picked the wrong timeline, snake-face."
Stepping out of the portal was Bayou Earl, the Green Tygerian Hedge Wizard. He wasn't in uniform; he wore tattered robes adorned with swamp talismans, his fur a deep, mystical emerald green. In one hand, he held a staff of twisted cypress wood glowing with raw magic.
But he didn't come alone.
The sky turned red as Helonix, the massive Volcano Dragon, squeezed through the portal above him, roaring and spewing literal magma onto the Ophidian shock troops.
And charging right past the wizard's legs was Uncle Billy Goat—not a normal animal, but a hulking, armored battle-goat with horns like iron battering rams, bleating a war cry that sounded suspiciously like "Get 'em!"
"Reinforcements?" Xul hissed, stepping back in confusion.
"Family," I grinned, getting back to my feet.
Bayou Earl raised his staff. "Helonix, burn them out! Billy, hit 'em low!"
The tide turned in seconds. The Hedge Wizard cast a spell of Entangling Vines that erupted from the concrete, trapping the Ophidians, while Helonix melted their tanks and Uncle Billy Goat head-butted a Serpent Guard so hard he flew through a brick wall.
I looked at the Green Tygerian Wizard. He gave me a nod. "Figured you could use a hand, Captain."
"Just in time," I said. "Now, let's finish this."
