Midweek Musings: A Year of Reflections
Wednesday, January 14, 2026
Coffee is steaming in the mug this Wednesday morning, and the Red River is looking as mysterious as ever. As I sit here, I can’t help but look back on the year that’s passed. Back in June, the cabin was a whirlwind—hauling trash, dodging the "Sludge Junk Monster," and keeping the coffee hot for the uncles.
Things look a little different as we head into this new year. Me and Uncle Bill are still here at the cabin, holding down the fort and watching the river flow by. We sure do miss Uncle Jerry; his absence is felt in the quiet moments of the morning. But even in the sadness, there’s a steady hope. We know that this isn't the end of the story, and we find comfort knowing that one day, we’ll see him again.
Until then, we’re counting our blessings in the raindrops and looking forward to what this new chapter brings.
Yours for now,
Captain Hedges
THE ANSWER IS YES WE STILL FEED THE JUNK MONSTER OUR GARBAGE!
